The camping:
Campngplatz Fährhaus Melk is located at the border of the center and is separated from the Danube by the famous cycle path "Passau-Vienna" and can be found on the right (southern) bank of “Die schönne Blaue Donau”, in the green center of Niederösterreich and on about 90 km from Vienna.
After being closed for a number of years, the municipality of Melk has taken this campsite under its wing. The paths and camping pitches have now been cleaned up, reseeded and there are even more innovative plans. The entire campsite covers 4000m², currently 32 places and after further renovation it will probably double that number.
Cullinary:
Melk has several renowned eateries across the road. In the municipality's new construction plans, a catering facility is located on the campsite. So just be patient.
Free toilet and showers for camping guests:
The original sanitary facilities are so outdated that container units have been installed for the time being, housing neat sanitary facilities. The first new construction plan is the sanitary facilities!
As a gateway to the Wachau, Melk offers numerous excursion destinations, with boat stations in the immediate vicinity of the campsite. The main attractions in the area are Melk Castle and the Benedictine Abbey. The Stift.
All in all, camping at the Fährhaus Melk campsite is always an experience
