Not far from the Russian border lies the Ruhkarantie camp site on the banks of the Nuorajärvi in ??the Finnish forests. For the fisherman and water sports enthusiast, this site is a good place. It is a flat grassy area with woods and planting. Illomation is the easternmost village of Finland. It offers the opportunity to get to know the usual traditions of Karelia. Here is the home of the traveling singer, a runic songs center where this important cultural tradition is preserved and distributed. the subjects of the national anthems are always inspired by events and customs of the different families and deal with many of the themes on which the most famous national work, the Kalevala, is inspired. On the Parppeinvaara hill stands one of the most interesting and typical villages of Karelia. Here are several traveling singers who accompany themselves with the traditional instrument, to find the kantele with the typical melodies for the area. In Ilomatsi there is a beautiful orthodox church, the Pyhän Elian kirkko, a strong place of imagination. In summer, typical religious orthodox party Praasniekka is celebrated with procession and traditional songs. The environment is rich in culture and a golden area in conjunction with the campsite.
