Camping Du Château
Goede doortrekcamping aan de A31 met hoog gelegen terrassenterrein.
Camping Du Château has an exceptionally green terrain and is sheltered and quietly situated against a mountain slope. Due to the high location one can enjoy the view of the surroundings here and there between the greenery. With a longer stay, a walk in the area is definitely worth it. This also applies to a visit to the historic town. Montigny would derive its name from its high location because the Gauls had the habit of igniting high hills of firing to pass on the arrival of the enemy. (Mons ignis = mont du feu). And when the former priory became a fortress of the king of Navarre, it received the addition "- le - Roi" and with it its current name. Montigny-le-Roi is known for the large number of springs that are used as a public washing place and as a fountain. At the reception of the camp site you will find a route with a description, which takes you past the springs, washing places and chapels of the town. Tip (especially) for campers with caravan. The (short) entrance to the campsite is quite steep. Switch back to 1st gear in advance!
