Camping Le Château was formerly a municipal site and is located in Hauterives, in the region of the famous postman Le Facteur Cheval. the postman who, during 33 years on his daily route, collected stones and thus built his 'Palais Idéal' until 1912, now the largest tourist attraction in the area and in 1975 recognized as a cultural heritage. Hauterives is located about an hour south of Lyon in the Drôme and is a real tourist place with many shops and restaurants. Camping Le Château offers not only beautiful pitches but also rental accommodation, including 6 luxury chalets. There is a large (municipal) swimming pool, which is free for campers. Hauterives offers a great base for exploring the beautiful surroundings.
