Altmühlsee Camping Herzog in Schlungenhof near Gunzenhausen is a spacious campsite, 150 meters from the Altmühlsee. The campsite is owned by a family. There are spacious, demarcated pitches of around 100 m2. There are special places for campers and a separate tent area. There are eight comfortable holiday homes for rent. Camping Herzog has a fine Italian restaurant and an extensive camp store. All pitches have electricity and water drainage. For an evening of cozy barbecuing, a special terrace is reserved. In Gunzenhausen (10 minutes) there is an indoor and outdoor pool (6 minutes). You can sail, surf, fish and cycle. Ask for the Erlebnis Führer, a brochure with many possibilities for trips in the area! The adjacent Altmühlsee with sandy beach offers many opportunities for entertainment. Not only water sports such as swimming, sailing and (kite) surfing. But you can also go Nordic walking (there is a Nordic Walkingschool), cycling or golf on a mini golf course. There is even a track (120 m long, the "Altmühlsee Ring") with electric cars for the kids, complete with straw bales to make it look as real as possible.
