Knaus Campingpark Viechtach in Viechtach is a well-maintained, complete campsite and popular with Dutch people. The campsite is open all year round and is also popular with winter sports enthusiasts. In the vicinity there are ski runs and there are opportunities for cross-country skiing. The campsite has a beautiful view from many places on the surrounding forests and mountains. There are hiking opportunities from the campsite. The area also has excellent cycling routes, such as the Danube Rain Radweg and the Regental Radweg. Knaus Campingpark Viechtach is fully equipped. There is a nice restaurant ("Schwalbennest") with terrace / beer garden, a shop with bread service, indoor swimming pool, sauna, infrared cabin, solarium, bocce court, beach volleyball court and a barbecue area. The campsite has wireless internet and offers children's entertainment in high season. They also rent out holiday homes, apartments and mobile homes. There are special pitches for campers at a reduced rate. As of the 2012 season, there are even a number of late people who are completely surrounded by fencing; these are secular nights for dog lovers who want their animals to roam freely. A special novelty are winter pitches for caravans or motorhomes, on paved surfaces, complete with connections for gas, electricity, water, waste water and TV. The water comes out of the ground, so that freezing is not possible. There are also racing fields for dogs, complete with a training course! There is also a dog shower. Excursions are also possible to Sankt Englmar (walking, playing, summer tobogganing in one village), glass art (Weinfurtner, glass village), Bavarian Forest, festivals, museums. A special attraction is the Waldwipfelweg at Sankt Englmar. You then take a walk at a height of 30 meters over the treetops of the Bavarian Forest. You will then walk over excellent fenced-out 2.50-meter-long paths. Also suitable for people with wheelchairs!
