Het is puur genieten op de campings in Sachsen. Dit gebied, wat ook wel het ‘Florence aan de Elbe’ genoemd wordt, heeft een ware metamorfose ondergaan en daardoor ontzettend leuk voor een kampeervakantie. De regio Sachsen kenmerkt zich door middelgebergten en vele bossen. De idyllische landschappen worden gekarakteriseerd door pittoreske dorpjes. In de zomer is het heerlijk wandelen en fietsen, maar in de wintermaanden is het langlaufen of skiën dat de klok slaat.

 

De Bastei

Steile rotsen aan de oevers van de Elbe, kenmerken De Bastei. Voor een adembenemend uitzicht moet je naar de Bastei-brug. Oorspronkelijk gebouwd als houten brug in 1824, om verschillende rotsen te verbinden. In 1851 is de brug vervangen en gemaakt uit zandsteen. De brug is schitterend, net als het uitzicht over onderliggende kloof. Vele kunstenaars deden hier hun inspiratie op!

De rotsformatie Bastei behoort, met de bekende brug, al meer dan 200 jaar tot de populairste attracties rond de campings in Sachsen. De vele wandelroutes, meanderen langs de mooiste uitzichtsplekjes, het panoramaterras en het uitzichtspunt Ferdinandstein. Ideaal om even bij te komen, met een warme kop koffie of thee.

 

Rijke cultuur in de steden

De steden rondom de campings in Sachsen hebben een boeiende geschiedenis en rijke cultuur te bieden. Steden als Dresden en Leipzig (‘ ook wel ‘Klein Parijs’ genoemd) vormen een leuk uitstapje vanaf de campings in Sachsen. Ook de kunstliefhebbers zullen zich hier zeker vermaken, want Dresden bezit één van de grootste kunstcollecties van Europa. Liefhebbers van klassieke muziek, weten hun weg ook wel te vinden. Bach en Wagner komen namelijk ook uit deze streek! Het zal je niet verbazen dat in Sachsen daarom veel muziekfestivals op de agenda staan.

Het lijkt een onuitputtelijke lijst, maar regio rond de campings in Sachsen staat om nog veel meer bekend: het zilverwerk, het speelgoed, het porselein, de stoomtreinen, de horloges en de auto’s (Porsche, Volkswagen, BMW).
