Wisløff Camping

Beautifully located and hospitable campsite. In Alta 4km. is the largest area with prehistoric rock drawings in Northern Europe, included on the World Heritage List of Unesco. You will also find a traditional Sami village within walking distance. You can also get from here to the largest canyon in Northern Europe. In the high season, drops are organized by boat during the night. Alta is also a great starting point for trips to the North Cape, Hammerfest and Kautokeino, birthplace v.d. Sami's, furthermore Juhls silver shop is well worth a visit. Here in the immediate vicinity you will find the Alta museum with prehistoric petroglyphs. The Alta river runs past the campsite, it is a paradise for fishermen and hikers. In Komsa there is a nice walking path to the top. You will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the fjord and the surrounding mountains. It is the perfect stop on the way to the North Cape.
